Boutique by design, not by circumstance.
VieKey Consulting is a Luxembourg advisory practice built around one idea: for a well-defined regulatory or structuring question, a single senior consultant is often the fastest and most reliable format there is.
The services are built for — and create the most value in — small and medium-sized enterprises: organisations whose management sits in the same position the practice does. Small, reactive, and multitasking by necessity, they need answers sized to the decision, not to the adviser's org chart.
Senior-only, direct, and honest about what it is
The practice takes on matters where seniority is the product — perimeter calls, structuring decisions, remediation plans, the questions where the value is in the judgement rather than the page count. There is no pyramid: the person you brief is the person who does the analysis, drafts the output, and stands behind it.
VieKey works as a senior peer to in-house teams and law firms, not a replacement for them. Where a matter needs a legal opinion, a filing, or regulated services, we say so early and work alongside the firms that provide them. Clients are primarily SMEs and mid-sized regulated businesses — organisations senior enough to need the analysis and lean enough to feel the difference between advice and throughput.
One habit runs through everything the practice produces: black-letter law, regulator practice, and market practice are distinguished and stated separately, because they are not the same thing — and most expensive surprises live in the gaps between them.
Slava Volotovsky
Slava Volotovsky is a Luxembourg-based consultant and the principal of VieKey Consulting. His work spans financial services regulation and compliance — CSSF practice, MiFID II, the Prospectus Regulation, Euro MTF listings, AML/KYC — Luxembourg securitisation and structuring under the 2004 Law, institutional tokenisation and DLT, carbon and energy markets including CBAM and the EU ETS, and risk and operational consulting for regulated businesses, including AI-driven automation.
The combination is deliberate. Tokenised issuance is a securities question before it is a technology question; CBAM is a trading-desk question before it is an environmental one; and nearly everything above eventually becomes a structuring question in Luxembourg. Clients get one desk that covers the intersection instead of three advisers covering a corner each.
His background includes over a decade in accounting, compliance and administration at leading firms, including Deloitte and Ernst & Young, and credentials as a retired CPA. VieKey Consulting is a member of the Association Luxembourgeoise des mandataires de Justice (ALMJ), INSOL Europe, the Receivables Management Association International, the Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs (ILA), the Institute for Financial Integrity and Sustainability (IFIS), the Luxembourg Association of Compliance Officers (ALCO), and the Association pour la Protection des Données au Luxembourg (APDL).
How engagements work
- A short scoping call. You describe the question; we tell you whether it fits the practice, what an answer would involve, and — where relevant — that you do not need us. No charge, no follow-up sequence.
- A fixed scope. Deliverable, timeline, and fee agreed in writing before work begins. Most engagements are fixed-fee; where the matter genuinely cannot be scoped up front, we say so and agree a bounded first phase instead.
- Delivery, without ceremony. The output is sized to the decision: sometimes a memorandum, often a two-page analysis and a call. Questions after delivery that fall within the scope are part of the engagement, not a change request.
